Children are an important part of church life at All Saints.
The Shining Lights group meets on some Sundays alongside the main worship service (breaking for a short period over the summer). Here, the children learn bible stories and enjoy craft activities and games to help them understand and remember the stories. Its run by a dedicated team of volunteers headed by Keith Wootton, who are CRB cleared to lead these activities.
On the first Sunday of each month children and adults generally come together for an All Age Worship service.
If you are coming along to Thorpe Acre with children for the first time and your children
wish to be involved in Shining Lights, then speak to one of the sidespeople (at the entry door), wardens or clergy when you arrive.
Other Children's Events
fun fish is a joint venture between Thorpe Acre Church and members of the Loughborough Navigators. It provides resources (both materials and people) to enable primary schools to present RE lessons and assemblies in a fun and engaging way. learn more by visiting the funfish website.
All Age Sunday Services
All Age Services, where the teaching is geared to be relevant to all ages, but especially the young, are held normally once a month, usually the first Sunday. These services are led by a team who open up bible stories and teaching to us in a vibrant way. It's a particularly good time to bring young children along (though they are welcome at all our services) because the style is generally more informal. Engaging activities both within the main teaching and on side tables mean they can take an active part in the service.
Toddlers' Church is a welcoming and friendly group, run by Penny, Ali and Sammi and a team of helpers for parents, carers and their babies and toddlers. There are loads of activities for the little ones including crafts, singing, Bible stories and lots of free play.
Toddlers' Church meets regularly in term time between 10-11.30am on Wednesdays. Just come along with your toddler / baby to join the fun.Alternativelly, the team can be contacted through the the Church Office.
